Gboard will finally adapt better to folding smartphones and tablets

gboard is undoubtedly the most pleasant keyboard to use on a android smart phone. On the other hand, Google still has efforts to make in terms of accessibility on tablets where the folding smartphoneswhich are currently only marginally supported.

Unlike a Samsung keyboard that offers to be split to make typing more natural and pleasant on large screens, Gboard does not yet allow this kind of functionality. But, don’t worry, it’s coming very soon!

Google is testing a Gboard suitable for large screens

It was high time for Google to get up to speed. Especially since the brand also plans to launch a folding smartphone, the Google Pixel Notepad in the near future.

Precisely, a test version of the famous Android keyboard now allows you to admire the functionality at work. The Telegram channel Rboard Themes shared snaps earlier this week showing how Gboard looks when split to fit large screens.

We notice a major difference with the Samsung Keyboard or SwiftKey proposal: the space bar remains intact. Perhaps in the hope of being less disturbing to the eye; using a split keyboard requires learning which can be a little rough at first.

As noted WCCFTech, this version of Gboard is not yet available to the general public. To take advantage of it, you have to activate various “ flags » experimental — which is not within everyone’s reach. The best is still to be patient. There is no doubt that Google will eventually roll out this feature on a large scale.
