In Germany, one strike after another will follow at the beginning of 2024, whether at airports, on public transport or on Deutsche Bahn train services.

The German Train Drivers’ Union has now again called for a strike among members of Deutsche Bahn. It will take place from Thursday, March 7, 2024, 2:00 a.m. to Friday, March 8, 2024, at 1 p.m.

The length of the work stoppage was not chosen at random. “To date, the railway board apparently has not understood the GDL’s demands for a 35-hour week. For this reason, the GDL will remind the DB management of this number – if necessary, over and over again. Therefore, the The first strike after negotiations failed again will last 35 hours,” the union’s press release said.

This is what happens to your tickets

Deutsche Bahn has already reacted and is informing passengers that they can use tickets purchased by March 4th later for a trip during the strike. There is no need to take a train and the destination can be reached later using a different route. If you would like to know more about the current situation, you can also use the free hotline service: 08000-996633.

Many people will have to travel despite the strike and are wondering whether Deutsche Bahn might even pay for taxi rides if necessary. In some circumstances this is even possible.
