GE: commissioning of the Topolobampo 3 power plant in Mexico


(CercleFinance.com) – GE announces that GE Vernova’s Gas Power business today celebrated, with Iberdrola Mexico, the start of commercial operation of the Topolobampo III power plant, in the Mexican state of Sinaloa , near the Topolobampo gas pipeline.

This 766 MW plant, powered by GE’s Class H combined cycle equipment, is a combined cycle power plant that aims to support Mexico’s renewable energy-rich grid and strengthen renewable growth in the country.

Topolobampo III aims to meet the growing energy demand of Mexico’s population, which, according to the IEA’s national analysis, is expected to reach more than 150 million inhabitants by 2050, up from nearly 127 million today .
