GE: contract for a wind farm in Massachusetts


(CercleFinance.com) – Iberdrola announces that it has selected, via its American subsidiary Avangrid Renewables, General Electric (GE) to supply wind turbines for the Vineyard Wind 1 project in Massachusetts, the first large-capacity offshore wind farm built in the United States. United.

The 62 wind turbines, with a unit power of 13.6 MW, are manufactured in GE factories located in France, in Saint-Nazaire and Cherbourg. This contract involves more than 1,500 employees on these two sites of the American group.

With an installed capacity of 800 MW and representing an investment of 2.5 billion euros, Vineyard Wind 1 will be the largest wind farm built in the country, and one of Iberdrola’s largest in the world.
