(CercleFinance.com) – GE Hydro Solutions announces the signing of a service contract with HYDRO Exploitation to refurbish two 120 MVA vertical synchronous generators at the Bitsch power station in Wallis, Switzerland. This 340 MW plant is owned by Electra-Massa, a company represented by HYDRO Exploitation.
The refurbishment operation aims to extend the life of the plant by ‘several decades’ and to ‘increase the performance and reliability of the plant’.
Electra-Massa SA aims to keep the plant fully operational until the concession expires in 2048 and beyond.
HYDRO Exploitation SA, which operates the plant for Electra-Massa SA, will act as agent for the contracting authority. In collaboration with GE Hydro Solutions, the three partners are committed ‘to providing the highest quality of engineering and design, to ensuring the continuity of operation and to organizing the integration and management of the project’.
