GECI International made a good start to the year and confirmed its ability to grow strongly while strengthening its profitability profile. The creativity and quality of our offers in the high value-added Digital and Technology markets and the improvement in their execution are all factors that are driving our recovery.

We approach the second part of the year with confidence, but in the current geopolitical and health context, we remain vigilant and count on the agility of our teams and the expansion of our economic model to areas of the smart city to further strengthen our growth and profitability.

SEMESTER 2022-23

Our economic and financial indicators improved over the half-year. Despite an uncertain international environment that is dragging on, the Group’s growth momentum in the high value-added Digital and Technology markets, more particularly in HPC, financial IT and Telecoms in Brazil, has made it possible to offset the slowdown facilities management and telecom activities in France, as well as the withdrawal from activities in South Africa.

Our growth dynamic with higher added value, our strict control of costs after three semesters of significant decline and the continuation of our significant debt reduction have enabled a marked improvement in our results and our financial structure.

The results for this first half are encouraging and confirm our objective of double-digit growth in our annual turnover, which should be accompanied by a further improvement in our results. They also allow us to approach the future with determination to meet the new challenges of a planet in full upheaval by supporting organizations and companies in their needs for digital, ecological and energy transformation.

INNOVATIONS AND SMART CITIES

Our entire society is changing profoundly, many opportunities are emerging, and our pillars of Technology and Digital are the areas in which we intend to strengthen our development ambitions and initiate a new entrepreneurial dynamic.

We are actively pursuing our innovation strategy to increase the convergence of our two business areas, strengthen our positions in high-potential markets – telecommunications, transport, renewable energies, IT – and expand our business model to new growth drivers. with the development of new offers and new smart products dedicated to the global smart city market.

The smart city opens up new fields of collaboration and stimulates innovation and creativity around the world. The exploitation of data and the creation of new products and services encourage traditional and digital companies to forge new alliances, most often with the support of local authorities. GECI International is part of this movement and has developed in recent years an international network of technological partnerships and commercial alliances within an ecosystem linked to the smart city.

The exclusive distribution agreement in Israel and Brazil, confirmed last September with the company Gertrude SAEM for its intelligent traffic management system, is an example of this and constitutes an important milestone in the constitution of our ITS offers – Intelligent Transportation System . This solution, which immediately received expressions of interest from public players in Israel, has significant commercial potential linked to the congestion of urban and road traffic and its enormous economic cost.

At the same time, we are undertaking other strategic developments to design and market innovative products and services related to the smart city.

In particular, at the start of 2023, as part of a cooperation with a Brazilian start-up specializing in IoT products, we intend to initiate the design of a public lighting automation solution, enabling cities to carry out substantial energy savings.

This solution will be tested as part of a pilot project carried out with the support of the Technological Park of the city of São José Dos Campos* with the aim of obtaining the “Smart City & IoT Solution” quality label. Obtaining this label should enable us to initiate commercial developments in Brazil thanks to the integrator expertise of our subsidiary AS+ Do Brazil to deploy the solution in the region.

STRENGTHENING OUR FUTURE GROWTH

Our projects in the smart city are part of our strategy of developing and incubating high-potential innovative projects and are sources of future growth for our Group. Through our technological or commercial partnerships, the contribution of emerging companies, benefiting from the Group’s synergies to optimize the development of their innovations, makes it possible to strengthen our technologies, our offers and our added value.

To accelerate our developments, we have decided to use financing authorized by the General Meeting of November 12, 2020. This further strengthening of our financial resources is justified by the commercial prospects which are accumulating on new sources of value creation and require sufficient working capital requirement.

With the convergence of our digital and technology activities, the spirit of innovation that has driven us since our creation, our mastery of complex projects, our ability to energize new technological companies, we are giving ourselves the means to expand our economic model. , while anchoring our development on a path of profitable growth
