  • With GeForce Now, gamers can play the games from their library on all devices.
  • With the latest update, the M1 is now also natively supported by Apple.
  • This should make the games run faster and use less energy.

Nvidia’s in-house gaming streaming service GeForce Now has long ensured that you can play your games on all kinds of end devices without having the latest hardware. An update now ensures that Mac users can also take full advantage of this offer.

The streaming service has actually been supporting the Apple M1 processor since last year, but not natively. Instead, “Rosetta” was used, a technology that emulates a different processor architecture in the background. As a result, apps developed for Intel chips also work on ARM processors, which also includes the M1. With version 2.0.40 of GeForce Now this emulation is now abolished.

Native support of the Apple M1

Accordingly, Mac gamers can now look forward to the latest update of GeForce Now. With the native support of the M1, games should now start faster, consume less energy and run faster overall. Games like Lost Ark in particular, which do not have macOS support, will therefore be easier to play.
