Nvidia has just announced news regarding the RTX 3080 GeForce Now offer. Limited to only 1440p and 120 FPS via the Google Chrome browser, the image definition now goes to 1600p. The 120 FPS are still there.
Year after year, the GeForce Now tries to find a place in the market for cloud gaming services. Recently, it should be remembered that a major competitor left the game, a certain Google Stadia. And yes, Google’s cloud gaming platform officially closed on September 29, 2022.
A few days earlier, the Mountain View company had however announced the arrival of 1440p for Stadia Pro users… Anyway, the death of Stadia will perhaps allow GeForce Now to recover new subscribers. In recent months, Nvidia has repeatedly improved its service.
First there was the launch of the RTX 3080 offering, which allowed gaming at 1440p and 120 FPS. In May 2022, the 4K definition, hitherto available exclusively on Nvidia Shield, arrived on Windows and macOS.
Nvidia boosts RTX 3080 offering to 1600p on Chrome
On this Friday, October 14, 2022, Nvidia announces that subscribers to the RTX 3080 offer can now stream their favorite PC games up to 1600p and 120 FPS via Google Chrome browser. Until now, the maximum definition was set at 1440p.
In addition, Nvidia confirms a partnership with Google on the occasion of the launch of the first Chromebooks ready for cloud gaming: the Acer Chromebook 516 GE, the ASUS Chromebook Vive CX55 Flip and the Lenovo Ideapad Gaming Chromebook. These three Chromebooks, which are all equipped with a 1600p 120 Hz panel, come with three months subscription to the GeForce Now RTX 3080.
As a reminder, about 1400 PC games are available in the GeForce Now library. Nvidia makes sure to add more regularly. 11 new titles have also joined the catalog this week:

As a reminder, Nvidia also worked with Logitech to integrate the GeForce Now into the G Cloud, the brand’s latest portable console specializing in gaming and office accessories.
