The swan song for graphics cards of the Ampere generation?

Earlier this week, we noticed the – very brief – return to stock of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition on the NVIDIA online store. It was actually a last stand.

No more RTX 3000 Founders Edition

Since last night, it is effectively no longer possible to acquire said graphics card and, above all, you should not count on new stocks since NVIDIA has purely and simply withdrawn the card from its listing.

In reality, things go a little further since it is all the Founders Edition of the Ampere generation – the GeForce RTX 3000 – which have been withdrawn from the official store of the American brand. To afford an RTX 3000, there is therefore no other choice but to turn to the models of partners, many of which market such cards.

If it’s the NVIDIA design that interests you, the only solution is, for now, to look at the ultra high-end with the Founders Edition of the RTX 4080 (1,399 euros) or the RTX 4090 ( €1,859).

NVIDIA shift to RTX 4000s

This disappearance is not surprising. For several months, we felt that NVIDIA was chomping at the bit, but it could not give up on the stocks of RTX 3000 GPUs in its warehouses and those of its partners.

Today, the transition to the RTX 4000 line looks increasingly clear as the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti have been released – sans Founders Edition – and the RTX 4070s should be coming soon. For the latter, NVIDIA seems determined to offer its own cards.

Remember that the latest news is that the RTX 4070 should be available during the month of April and rumors speak of RTX 4060/4060 Ti for the very beginning of summer.
