A few hours before the launch of the first of the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series, the question of the public price arises more insistently. Will the prices put forward by NVIDIA be respected?
There is no question of talking about a sale, but the brand has definitely opted for a price realignment with this second range. History, of course, to position itself against competition from AMD.
NVIDIA readjusts some of its prices
During CES 2024 in Las Vegas, NVIDIA set the public prices – first in dollars – of the three new SUPER cards and took the opportunity to adjust that of the “survivor”, the GeForce RTX 4070.
The latter is thus down by 50 dollars, set at 549 dollars. The GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER is at the launch price of its little sister at 599 dollars or 659 euros. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER costs 799 dollars or 889 euros. Finally, the RTX 4080 SUPER is set at $999 or 1,109 euros.
Please note that these are NVIDIA’s recommended retail prices. The brand will apply them to its Founders Edition cards on the 4070 SUPER and 4080 SUPER (there is no FE on the 4070 Ti SUPER), but partners remain free to charge their own prices.
For two or three days, resellers have indulged in some indiscretions and our colleagues at VideoCardz have compiled this information which suggests that the RTX 4070 SUPER will be close to its public price.
Some models at public price
Alongside the Founders Edition, we are talking about a PNY Verto OC, a Zotac Twin Edge and a Gigabyte WindForce OC at $599. A little more expensive, MSI models will be respectively 609 dollars (Ventus 2X OC), 619 dollars (Ventus 2X OC White) or 629 dollars (Ventus 3X OC).
Still for the RTX 4070 SUPER, but at $649 this time, we will also find models described as more muscular with the MSI Gaming X Slim or the Gigabyte Gaming OC. The good news is that several manufacturers have decided to play the public price game.
For the RTX 4070 Ti, without a Founders Edition model to put a little pressure on, things seem less encouraging: only two prices have been put forward, but they are above $799. The Gigabyte Gaming OC would be $849 and the MSI Ventus 3X OC would be $899.
Finally, only one price has so far emerged for the RTX 4080 SUPER which will not be released until the very end of the month. While the Founders Edition will be priced at $999, the MSI Ventus 3X OC will be priced at $1,099.
