Thus, we learned successively that this RTX 4070 Ti would be nothing other than the renowned RTX 4080 12 GB. There was also talk of CES 2023 in Las Vegas, which would be the occasion, one after the other, to present and launch the RTX 4070 Ti, possibly at less than $1,000.

5,888 CUDA cores and a TDP of 250 Watts

The latest rumors, however, go a little further with, not one, but two RTX 4070 in preparation at NVIDIA. There would therefore be the RTX 4070 Ti which no longer seems to be in doubt, but also an RTX 4070 “very short”, to go down further in range.

According to the details given by kopite7kimi on Twitter, the RTX 4070 is designed around the AD104-250 GPU. A logically less muscular version than the AD104-400 of the RTX 4070 Ti. We are talking about 5,888 CUDA cores against 7,680, 46 stream processors against 60 and a TDP of 250 Watts when it is 285 Watts on the RTX 4070 Ti.

On the other hand, the memory subsystem would be identical: in either case, we are talking about 12 GB of GDDR6X at 21 Gbps on a 192-bit bus for a total bandwidth of 504 GB/s. For the rest, we will have to take our troubles patiently, who knows, maybe NVIDIA will speed up on Ada Lovelace?
