She ended up in bed with 007. Gemma Arterton sees her role in "Quantum of Solace" critically today: "Strawberry should have said no."

As a young actress, Gemma Arterton (34) has achieved what many others can only dream of. She landed a role alongside leading actor Daniel Craig (52) in the 2008 agent action "James Bond 007: A Quantum of Solace". She became known to a wide audience as MI6 agent Strawberry Fields. However, the British actress does not seem to like the reputation of a Bond love at all.

Criticism for their role

As she now told British tabloid The Sun, she is in part "still criticized for accepting 'Quantum of Solace'". For the now 34-year-old, it wasn't all about the production itself. "At the beginning of my career, I was as poor as a church mouse and I was happy to just be able to work and make a living," she said. It wasn't until later, "as I got older, that I realized there was so much wrong with Bond women."

Arterton did not go further into the details of what bothers her about the portrayal of women. All she said was: "Strawberry should have just said no", probably referring to the scene when her character succumbs to the charm of 007 and ends up in a hotel bed with him.
