The well-known actress Gemma Whelan from “Game of Thrones” has secured a new leading role – in the thriller series “The Tower”.

Gemma Whelan (39) takes on the lead role from Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins in the new British thriller mini-series “The Tower”. This is announced by the broadcaster ITV. Whelan is best known as Asha Greyjoy from “Game of Thrones” and from the series “Killing Eve”.

The three-part mini-series is based on the crime novel “Post Mortem” by author Kate London and is adapted by “Homeland” author and executive producer Patrick Harbinson. It is currently unknown who will be seen alongside Whelan. Filming is scheduled to begin this month.

In “The Tower”, a police officer and a teenage girl fall to their deaths from a high-rise roof in London. A five-year-old boy and a young police officer survived the incident on the roof. Collins (Whelan) starts the investigation when the policewoman disappears a few hours later.
