Audrey from Canada had imagined traveling to the Greek holiday islands differently. Instead of the “Mamma Mia!” idyll, there was absolute chaos on board the island ferries. On TikTok The 26-year-old shares a video of her vacation and warns the online community: “If you’re planning a trip to Greece, prepare for it.”
In the now viral TikTok video, crowds of people can be seen pushing on and off the boats as they wait to head to the next island. Inside the ferry, guests’ luggage is crowded together.
“I was definitely surprised!”
The photos were taken during three ferry trips between Paros, Santorini and Naxos. “I was expecting a crowd, but I had no idea it would be so crowded. “I was definitely surprised!” she explained.
Audrey was amazed at how many people fit on a ferry. The young woman was also surprised by the efficiency of the ferry employees: “It is actually a very quick boarding and disembarking process, albeit chaotic!”
Despite the hectic trip, Audrey can’t wait to return to Greece for another European adventure. She writes under the video: “It’s messy, but it’s totally worth it!”

In the comments, many users share their own experiences with the Greece ferries. “It was wild,” is how one user sums up her trip on the boat. Another wrote: “This is the part they don’t tell you about.”
Another user doesn’t share Audrey’s shock: “It’s actually not that bad. It’s part of the trip. Plus they sell beer and wine on the ferry.” That should at least make the shaky crossing a little more pleasant for one or two tourists.
