The opposition leader accuses the Chancellor of “gross breach of word” and Olaf Scholz compares Friedrich Merz to Alice in Wonderland. However, the general debate on the budget in the Bundestag will not be a classic exchange of blows: instead, the chancellor will attempt a small demonstration of power.
Friedrich Merz would be the better chancellor for Germany.
