General Electric: equips a power plant in Taiwan


(CercleFinance.com) – General Electric (GE) today announced that Taiwan Power Company’s Tung Hsiao Power Plant, Taiwan, safely and successfully started grid connection trials in January 2023 using six turbines aeroderivative gas generators GE.

Recently installed highly modular units can supply up to 180 megawatts (MW) of electricity.

Installed GE aeroderivative gas turbines can operate with high hydrogen blends, with a future path to 100% hydrogen combustion to further support Taiwan Power Company’s decarbonization initiatives.

‘GE provided its advanced turbine technology as well as the various components of a power plant system needed to generate power,’ said Ramesh Singaram, GE Gas Power’s general manager for Asia.
