She may be known for her kindness, but once on the battlefield, Kamisato Ayaka does not lace up. In order to help you get the most out of this 5-star character, here are the weapons and artifacts best bet on.
After making her debut on Genshin Impact during the beta, the least we can say is that Ayaka was made to wait. The fearsome swordsman didn’t land in-game until many months later, when the Inazuma region was introduced. Since then, the one nicknamed Shirasagi Himegimi has made her way to the top, quickly becoming a must have in the eyes of many players.
It must be said that between his dash, and his zone DGT, Ayaka has everything to please, whether as a main DPS or as a secondary DPS. Once armed with the best weapons and artifacts, this 5-star character can wreak havoc. Here’s how to take advantage of it.
Ayaka Abilities in Genshin Impact
Attack: School of Kamisato – Slenderness
- Normal attack: Ayaka performs up to 5 sword swings.
- Charged Attack: Ayaka consumes stamina to unleash 2 swift wind blades.
- Diving attack: Ayaka dives from the air to smash the ground, inflicting DMG on opponents in her path and inflicting area DMG on impact.
Elemental Skill: Kamisato School – Ice Flower
Ayaka summons an area of ice around her, which knocks up nearby enemies while inflicting area-of-area Cryo DMG.
Elemental Unleashing: Kamisato School – Deathfrost
Ayaka’s Elemental Unleash releases a Frosty Whirlwind that will progress straight ahead. It will lacerate opponents in its path, before finally exploding, inflicting significant area Cryo DMG.
Dash: School of Kamisato – Frost Path
While not an ability on its own, Ayaka’s Alternate Sprint is an essential part of her kit. When using her dash, Ayaka veils herself behind a cloud of icy fog, moving at high speed on land and water.
When Ayaka stops sprinting, she applies the Cryo element to nearby enemies and she imbues her blade with Cryo, converting her next DMG into Cryo DMG.

Better team composition with Ayaka
If you want to use Ayaka as your primary DPS in Genshin Impact, you’ll need to focus on freezing enemies with the combination of Cryo and Hydro Reaction. Xingqiu was once the best option for this, providing great support without needing to spend too much time on the battlefield.
However, it is now Ayaka’s brother, Kamisato Ayato, who fills that void. Her elemental rampage covers a wide area, making it easy to freeze enemies every time, and her elemental skill can overwhelm opponents while in Ayaka’s elemental rampage.
Diona is also a great option to get a Cryo Resonance buff and reduce Ayaka’s reliance on Elemental Mastery. An Anemo character like Venti, Kazuha, or Sucrose rounds out the team well too, they usually help group enemies together for his elemental rampage.
