Genshin Impact has just celebrated its second birthday, and is celebrating this with the arrival of its 3.1 version and that of the Sumeru desert, a new area to explore. The title will also soon introduce a card game within the experience, which will be permanently available, but part of the community is also wondering if other endgame content will appear soon. Obviously, that’s not in the plans at all.
No additional endgame on the horizon
GameSpot was able to speak with HoYoverse to talk about the two years of the game, with an interview that looks back on the current state of the game and what we can expect for the years to come.
The issue of endgame content has been very present since the very release of the game, since the only content of this kind that is available is that of the Abyssa succession of challenges that are renewed every two weeks, but which no longer manages to set up a challenge that is interesting enough for a whole section of the community.
Faced with this lack of high-level challenges, GameSpot therefore asked the Chinese studio if other endgame content was possible in the future, but the answer is probably not going to please:
” The Spiral Depths [les Abysses] is one of the most effective ways for players to test their party composition and combat strength. If we design another type of permanent endgame content similar to Spiral Depths, it could end up creating undue anxiety for our players. – not everyone is interested in the Abyss. »
We can indeed hear the argument which consists in not wanting to frustrate the new players not being able to finish this content, but we also think of people who play actively, and who would like an endgame a little more gripping and captivating. After all, it is they who inject money into the game, and we may be surprised to see that the studio does not seek to satisfy them a little more.
