Genshin Impact: Is Paimon annoying or adorable? The redditors have decided!

We can neither summon her via wishes, nor make her fight, and yet her voice resounds in the heads of all players of Genshin Impact. We are obviously talking here about Paimon, the ultra emblematic little character of the miHoYo game, who accompanies us on our journey on Teyvat. Very quickly, Paimon crystallized a lot of attention from the community. Firstly because she is very kawaii, but also because she couldn’t be more talkative. She intervenes in most of the quest dialogues, with a small shrill voice as we like them (or not). A redditor recently cleared things up with a poll to find out what the community as a whole really thinks of the little character.

We love you despite everything, Paimon

Paimon can blow: most of the community considers her to be more “adorable” than “annoying”. It must be said that MiHoyo goes all out to transform her into an endearing character. She perfectly takes on the role of selfless companion, whose good humor is unalterable.

The publisher also surrounds Paimon with a certain amount of mystery. The character doesn’t have a real “backstory” yet in the already extensive Genshin Impact mythology. However, she wears a crown on her head, and could well take on a more significant role in the future. So let’s wait a bit before cataloging it as a decorative cherub for our Traveler.

The chatterbox

Even if this poll is based on a fairly small sample (barely 1000 voters), it still expresses some dissatisfaction with the community. Many fans find her to be a bit irritating anyway, and when looking at the Reddit replies and threads, it’s often because she talks a lot (really a lot).

Some fans feel that it encroaches too much on the dialogues that should be led by the Traveler. Or maybe it just repeats or paraphrases the plot.

Giving one of the game’s most charismatic 5-star characters a super-fast, nasal voice? Why didn’t you think of that earlier? Perhaps because it would ruin our image of the warrior with the fiery sword…
