The open world of Genshin Impact is extremely vast, and full of secrets of all kinds. Each area of the map has several hundred hidden chests, and dozens of unmarked puzzles. And if the prospect of exploring the world of Teyvat in the smallest details is for some gratifying, it bothers others, who are tired of chasing the famous “100% exploration” in vain. Indeed, fully exploring Teyvat is tedious to say the least, if not downright unfeasible. This is what some redditors blame, when they claim a boost from the developers that could help them access the handful of missing chests.
Primogems forever lost
Exploring a 100% area on Genshin Impact is no small feat. And very few players can boast of having collected absolutely all the secret rewards of the game, for the simple and good reason that there is always a damn chest that you never find.
For some players, this is a disappointment, since it is in a way equivalent to miss game content. The easter eggs, that’s one thing, but the content that gets lost in limbo doesn’t go over well with some people. Not to mention the real shortfall that exists through these forever buried secrets. For the free-to-play particularly, these lost chests represent hundreds of Primogems and Moras that will never be used.
The problem is that the various interactive maps that are deployed in the appendix of the game (whether from Mihoyo or not) are not synchronized with the real exploration of the players. Results: Players are unable to directly identify which chests they are missing. On reddit, users like LightningShado therefore require a direct boost once a certain percentage of exploration has been reached. This is to avoid going around in circles looking for a handful of chests that are too well hidden.
Exploring without slaving away is not to everyone’s taste
Another segment of the community believes that if MiHoYo ends up “solving” its own content, the discovery of secrets in the game will lose flavor. Wandering around and discovering a chest or an enigma almost by chance, you have to admit that it has a charm. Many fans even think thata total mapping of the game’s secrets would nullify the “exploration” aspect of Genshin, since the game would be reduced to a speed run from trunk to trunk.
