Genshin Impact Wins People’s Choice Award at The Game Awards, Alhataim and Yao Yao Confirmed in 3.4

While some people spend all of their primo gems in hopes of getting Scaramouche, others are saving up for future characters to come in. Genshin Impact. We were concerned that we didn’t already know the future characters of version 3.4, which we expected to see last Monday, but miHoYo simply waited for The Game Awards to reveal its plans, while picking up the public vote prize in the process.

Two highly anticipated Dendro characters

It was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated characters from Sumeru: Alhaitham will finally be playable in version 3.4if we are to believe the portrait of the character broadcast on official game accounts.

This Dendro warrior will not be alone, however, since Yao Yao will accompany him. We’ve known the character for a while now, but he appeared in the Game Awards video last night and should therefore arrive in 3.4.

Why Genshin Impact wins the audience award?

Sacred story that this award ceremony. In addition to the categories where the Game Awards jury has more votes than the public, Geoff Keighley and his teams also awarded the People’s Choice Award with a long voting process between 30 games. Among them, Genshin Impact was present despite being released in 2020 (presumably because it’s a service game).

For days he and Sonic Frontiers clashed shamelessly, with communities more active and vocal than ever, eager to see their darling win. Only here, the bots got involved, enough to have a doubt about the final results. Geoff Keighley, however, assured yesterday that the fake votes had been removed, making appear Genshin Impact as the big winner.

But why him, and not Elden Ring Where God of Ragnarok ? Well already because the game can count on a very active community. But also very interested in the potential reward that could follow the awarding of this prize.

Last year when Genshin Impact won awards, the studio had distributed precious primo-gems to everyone to thank the community for its support. Whether miHoYo never promised the same this year, many players thought that the pattern would repeat itself. And this is the case, so 800 primo-gems will be offered by December 13th. This at least shows that this Game Awards award ultimately has little value, if it can be linked to community interests.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, iOS and Android. Do not hesitate to consult our many guides on the game to find out more.
