Gentleman: His first German-language album will be released in September

After more than 20 years in the music business and six albums, Gentleman (45) is reinventing himself: the reggae musician is singing in German for the first time. Last Thursday (June 11th) Gentleman released his first German single "Ahoi". Today he also announced the release of his first completely German-language album: "Blue Hour" will be released on September 18.

Gentleman himself calls "Ahoi" "the first DNA with which I want to show myself in German," said the musician in a post on Instagram. According to his record label Universal, the single was created after a brainstorming session with rapper and filmmaker Damion Davis (39) and Samy Deluxe (42, "Wake me up").

Fans like the new direction

The fans like it. "Wasn't sure what to expect. But you really knocked it out!" Writes a user on Instagram. Another finds: "Incredibly great song, mega video and super authentic. Had goosebumps last night." The anticipation of the fans is no coincidence: The last gentleman album "New Day Dawn" was released in 2013.

Gentleman's first German-language album "Blue Hour" will be released on September 18, 2020.
