Georg Ratzinger: The Pope brother dies at the age of 96

Georg Ratzinger, brother of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, died. He was 96 years old.

Georg Ratzinger, brother of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI (93), died at the age of 96. The Catholic News Agency first learned this from the circles of the diocese of Regensburg. Just a few days ago, Georg Ratzinger received a visit from his brother Joseph Ratzinger, who wanted to say goodbye to him. Even then it was said that the former director of the Regensburg Cathedral Sparrows was dying.

Throughout his life Georg Ratzinger had a close relationship with his brother, with whom he celebrated the fair just a few days ago in his apartment in Regensburg's Luzengasse. The two are said to have spent several hours on the phone almost daily. Unfortunately, due to Georg Ratzinger's poor health, this was no longer possible in the recent past. Ratzinger was almost completely blind and bedridden.
