Georg Stengel: He learned that from "The Voice"

Georg Stengel was the audience favorite at "The Voice of Germany" in 2016. Now the newcomer is aiming for his great music career.

In 2016 Georg Stengel (26) was the crowd favorite at "The Voice of Germany", this year the newcomer really wants to get started. The singer recently released his single "Mars". But he doesn't want to travel to space for the time being, because "to switch off, the good balcony and good beer are enough," he laughs in an interview with the news agency spot on news. In the music show he landed in the team of Michi Beck (52) and Smudo (52) from the Fantastischen Vier. "Unfortunately I am no longer in contact with the two," says Stengel. "But what is not can still be!"

"The Voice of Germany" still had some advantages for Stengel's career. "I was able to gain television experience there and also learn a lot musically." He also got a "cool offer" from ProSieben after participating in the music show: He was on the road as a food reporter for the "taff" program. At "The Voice" he convinced the viewers above all with his honest and open manner. Even in private he is obviously known for his cheeky sayings. "Sure, I often still have moments today when I talk first and then think. I stand by that too and that is good for one or the other laugh!" Explains the 26-year-old.

Georg Stengel on the corona crisis: "Everything went a bit stupid!"

His first album is to follow in 2020. If you had told him that at the time of "The Voice of Germany", "I would have laughed at him", says Georg Stengel looking back. This year, however, the corona crisis intervenes. "Everything went a bit stupid! Exactly now that everything starts with me, the crisis is of course very inconvenient!" Says the singer. "But I make the best of it! And when everything is over, twice as much atmosphere is created! Then there are 200 percent stems!"

In his hometown Jüterbog in Brandenburg, Georg Stengel initially had a hard time because nobody really wanted to believe in his success. Giving up was out of the question for the musician: "The more people did not believe in me, the greater the ambition to prove to everyone that I would and would do it! I never thought that it would work, but ambition pays stay out of it! "

So it looks with his private happiness

Not only is his music career slowly picking up speed, Stengel has also found his luck privately. He likes to show up with his girlfriend on his Instagram account. "It is very important in my life, without it many things would not have worked," he says. "I am grateful to her for my whole life!" He could also imagine getting married and starting a family. "Yes, definitely! My goal is to become a grandpa and to be able to sing and play to my grandchildren! That's why I have to start soon, so have a look."
