Amal and George Clooney have been married for eight years and are still as in love as the first day. The Hollywood star is now revealing the secret of his happy marriage – and why he and his wife never argue.
They are THE Hollywood dream couple par excellence: When Amal, 44, and George Clooney, 61, met, the actor had the reputation of being the eternal bachelor. But he was immediately “very impressed” by the human rights lawyer, as he now reveals on the breakfast show “CBS Mornings”. He fell head over heels in love with the “extraordinarily funny, clever, beautiful, great woman” and it didn’t take long for the two to walk down the aisle. In the joint interview, the couple also reveals why their marriage is so harmonious and what “terrible mistake” they made in raising their twins.

“It starts with love,” George says during an interview with Amal on CBS Mornings on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. “That’s kind of the whole secret behind it. It’s been easy. It’s the simplest thing we do ever done in our lives. We’ve never had a fight.” Amal agrees with her husband and says how lucky she is to have found someone who understands her so well. However, she admits that the lack of friction “seems preposterous to some of her friends.” “I think it’s 99 percent luck, just meeting the right person,” explains the 44-year-old.

Amal Clooney adds that she was extremely surprised that George “wasn’t being cynical or reserved” and their relationship took off at a rapid pace. A few months after the two met in July 2013 on Lake Como in Italy, they went on their first date in London. The engagement followed in April 2014 and in September of the same year the couple said yes in Venice. On Tuesday, September 27, 2022, Amal and George celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary. Although they did not think about marriage at the beginning of their relationship, they were quickly sure that they had found the love of their lives. “I never imagined that I would spend the rest of my life with him or that we would have this wonderful family,” enthuses the lawyer.

As the show progresses, George and Amal also talk about their twins Ella and Alexander, 5. “We made a terrible mistake,” says the “Ocean’s Eleven” actor, explaining: “We taught them Italian.” The problem: The actor and his wife do not speak this language. “So we gave them a language that they can use to harm us. We both don’t really know what they’re saying,” adds George, laughing.
The mother of two also reveals a cute detail about Alexander. “Our son is now a big joker,” she says, explaining that George taught him pranks that the little one now likes to use on dad himself.
