George W. Bush: Ex-US President surprises with this book of paintings

Former US President George W. Bush publishes a book of paintings with faces and stories about America's immigrants.

Former President (2001-2009) George W. Bush (74) has put together another book with his pictures, this time the faces and stories of American immigrants are the focus. "Out of Many, One" is slated for March 2, 2021 and will highlight "the inspiring travels of America's immigrants and the contribution they make to the life and prosperity of our nation," according to an official statement from which the " People "magazine quotes.

18 months of work

Bush also let his followers know personally via Instagram that the portraits will also be on view in an exhibition at the "George W. Bush Presidential Center" in Dallas. "In the past 18 months I have painted and written the portraits and stories of 43 immigrants I met," he explains about the artworks. He wanted to honor new Americans "who have contributed to the cultural wealth, economic vitality, entrepreneurship and renewed patriotism of our country," said Bush.

"I hope that 'Out of Many, One' will draw our collective attention to the positive impact immigrants have on our country," he concludes his message.

After "Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief's Tribute to America's Warriors" from 2017, the new illustrated book is the second book with paintings by the ex-US President.
