After claiming that the Omicron variant is much less severe, even comparing it to a simple winter cold, the emergency doctor kept this same speech in the columns of Current Values, on newsstands this Thursday, January 13. If he tries to be as rational and objective as possible on the Covid-19 pandemic, Gérald Kierzek deplores the lack of discernment of some of his colleagues. Asked about the comments made by certain doctors, the LCI health columnist was very critical of some “experts” sometimes inexperienced appearing in certain media. “These people who have for certain no medical qualifications or codes of ethics influence public opinion in the sense of mass vaccination and health restrictions“, he regrets in the columns of the magazine.
And Gérald Kierzek does not mince his words to qualify the attitude of some of his peers. “These alarmists are committing a fault as serious as the conspirators”, he confides. For the 47-year-old scientist, these “violate article 13 of the code of ethics which stipulates that ‘when the doctor participates in an action to inform the public (…), he shows caution and is concerned about the repercussions of his remarks on the public'”, he explains during the interview. Anxious to reassure the French, Gérald Kierzek then invites them to take a step back on “the contamination figures” and the number of“intensive care admissions” announced daily. “These are most often fantasy projection figures, not conceptualized, whose only vocation is to terrorize public opinion in order to have the restrictions accepted”, he develops with a hint of annoyance.
