Lhen I found myself on this television set for a debate on the war in Ukraine, I immediately sensed the trap into which I had fallen. All the other participants were “true believers” who were going to celebrate Ukraine’s recent victories not just without adding context and nuance, but refusing to let it be. I was not deceived. There was no debate, since everyone went there with their call to do everything so that the defeat of Russia, henceforth acquired in their eyes, would be total. Ukraine was to recover all of its territories, including Crimea, and obtain reparations from the aggressor while Putin faced a new Nuremberg trial.
