JSo far, Americans and Europeans have not felt the need to define their goals in Ukraine. It was a question, in an emergency, of bringing their support to the attacked and of making pay the price of his action to the aggressor. The United States, moreover, showed a restraint to which they had not accustomed us: they excluded from the outset any dispatch of American forces to Ukraine, they refused to allow Poland to deliver MiG 29 fighter planes there and did not react not Putin’s nuclear posturing. The Biden administration repeated it: the war was between Ukraine and Russia; Americans and Europeans were not belligerents, but supported the victim of aggression as international law gives them the right to do so.
