I am convinced that he is a huge win for Austrian football and for the national team. He sends the team onto the pitch with a tactical concept that is clear, proactive and courageous. It increases the probability of victory. In the ÖFB you also have to look behind dusty corners, break things open. I know him well enough – Ralf will take a look and improve things. He deserves the highest esteem. What he has done in recent years – not only in Salzburg, but also in Leipzig – is impressive. Ralf was the obstetrician everywhere and was successful everywhere. It’s important to have him on the front lines. But that doesn’t mean that we’ll win every game with him, but rather that we’re going in the right direction. It takes people like him who play a leading role in shaping things at the front. That’s not always fun for everyone, but promising.
