Film composer Hans Zimmer has won an Oscar. He was awarded for the “Dune” music. He shares his joy on Twitter.

The German film composer Hans Zimmer (64) is happy about his second Oscar: “Many thanks to the Academy, but above all to all @DuneMovie musicians and our director Denis Villeneuve”, wrote the 64-year-old on Twitter. In a short clip he can also be seen there, apparently in a bathrobe, with a little golden boy in his hand. Zimmer was honored for the film music in the science fiction film “Dune”. He had previously received a Golden Globe for the soundtrack.

In a tweet the musician, who is currently on tour, had previously explained about his Oscar triumph: “It’s 2 a.m. in Amsterdam and my daughter Zoë woke me up to go to the hotel bar. Wow !!”

Second Oscar

Zimmer, who was born in Frankfurt am Main, has been living and working in the USA for a long time. He received his first Oscar nomination in 1989 for the film “Rain Man”. In 1995 he was awarded his first Oscar for the film music for “The Lion King”. He has been nominated twelve times for the most important film award in the world. He has had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame since 2010.
