This year is planned again "with a big show"
After the German TV Prize 2020 could not take place as an event, a date in late summer was chosen for 2021.
After the cancellation of many large award ceremony events, the makers hope for greater luck in 2021. The date for the German TV Prize 2021 has already been set, as the committee has now announced. This year's golden trophies are to be handed over on September 16. As in the previous year, the private broadcaster RTL is in charge.
Like the award ceremony, the show will be broadcast on September 16 at 8:15 pm on RTL. Stephan Schäfer, managing director of content and brands at Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and this year's chairman of the group of donors, explains: "In view of the ongoing pandemic, we have set the date for the presentation of the German TV Prize in late summer." They will "give everything to be able to award the prize again with a major show and industry event."
The newly appointed expert jury has therefore already started work. The 15 industry experts chaired by producer Wolf Bauer (71) include author and presenter Micky Beisenherz (43), actress and producer Dr. Maria Furtwängler (54) and the journalist and presenter Shary Reeves (51). In the coming weeks and months, the experts will decide on the nominees and winners of the. The observation period extends from May 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
