The German Television Awards were presented in Cologne on Wednesday evening. Some celebrity couples showed off their style and coordinated their outfits. Jana (37) and Thore Schölermann (40) posed together on the red carpet, with the presenter wearing a tourmaline green suit. The color was reflected in his wife’s accessories. She combined her purple velvet gown with a sparkling clutch and statement earrings in the green color.

Judith Williams (53) appeared in an elegant black cut-out dress with long sleeves, a high leg slit and sequin appliqués on the hem. Her husband Alexander-Klaus Stecher (56) also chose black for his shirt and shoes, forming a harmonious duo with his wife. He also chose a cream-colored suit and a colorful scarf.

“Today we have already coordinated,” revealed Judith Williams, standing next to her husband on the red carpet, in an interview with spot on news. “It often happens that when we know that we have an evening like this together, we always match up as if by chance, without having talked about it beforehand,” added Alexander-Klaus Stecher. “The stylist always asks: ‘How do you actually do that?'” Perhaps they are telepathically connected, joked Williams.

The two of them have good taste themselves, but still rely on help. “For me it’s always a time problem, I don’t have the time to choose all the evening dresses. My stylist makes a preliminary selection and then the dress that fits me is the one I choose (laughs).” Two hours are usually planned for her styling, “to get ready, do her hair, make-up and the care underneath, which is also very important.” A whole hotel suite is often taken up with the helping hands, her husband said. For the evening, Williams chose a dress by Nissa. “I was a bit scared with the cut-out, but everyone said: ‘You have to do it, women your age have to do it too.’ So I dared.” She combined the evening dress with a black clutch, “I actually always have it in my suitcase or car. I love it, it was the first Dior bag I owned.”

Short-term change of plan

“We actually coordinated even more,” Jana Schölermann revealed about the couple’s look with her husband. “Actually, Thore wanted to match the exact color of the dress, but we worked in different cities and he only decided based on a photo, which I thought was brave. Of course, that didn’t work at all (laughs). That’s why he quickly changed his plans this morning and matched my accessories in tourmaline green.”

The job for the men is “actually always much harder because the women can prepare for it for weeks and we have to react at the last minute,” said Thore Schölermann, who spent the evening before his 40th birthday at the television awards. “So we always have to keep up with the styling.” This is also because “it is much easier for you to find a well-fitting suit,” replied his wife, who associates something special with her dress.

“It’s by Maria Lucas, who also designed my wedding dress with me back then. She makes incredibly great dresses, I’ve been able to wear many of hers and they’re always made to measure. This time the designer also lent her her shoes, strappy heels with sparkling stones, which were a “perfect” color match. “But they’re shoes from hell and only suitable for today (laughs). Walk across the carpet once and then sit down and just don’t get up.” This year the couple, who live near Cologne, are missing out on an event where fashion plays a role. “As a Munich native, I had my first dirndl when I was three years old, I’ve been to the Oktoberfest every year except this year,” said Jana Schölermann. “But I have a good reason, with two children it would have been too stressful to drive down with them.”
