The German cinema release date of Kevin Costner’s western epic “Horizon” has been set. There is also a German trailer.

“Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner (69) has realized his very own western heart project with “Horizon”. The film, which is planned as the start of a four-part cinema series, will celebrate its world premiere on May 19th at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. It is now clear when “Horizon: An American Saga” will be released in German cinemas: August 22nd is the date, as Tobis Film announced today in a press release.

German trailer for “Horizon” shows breathtaking western images

“Horizon” is set in 1861. Groups of pioneers and settlers move west and occupy areas inhabited by the Apaches. The natives use violence to defend themselves against the newcomers, but there are also increasing conflicts among the settlers themselves.

The German trailer for “Horizon: An American Saga”, also released today, sets the mood for a monumental Western epic – and also shows the impressive star cast of Costner’s directing work. Among others, Sienna Miller (42), Sam Worthington (47), Jena Malone (39) and Kevin Costner’s son Hayes Costner appear in front of the camera. The director and co-screenwriter takes on the leading role.

“Horizon: An American Saga” will ultimately consist of four interconnected films. The second part opens in cinemas in the USA on August 16th, just a few weeks after the start of the first part on June 28th. Filming for parts three and four has not yet begun.
