The German Television Prize was awarded in Cologne. Among the winners was Joko Winterscheidt.
In a big gala on September 16, special achievements relating to German TV were honored. Joko Winterscheidt (42) was one of the winners of the evening. Right at the beginning of the presentation of the German TV Prize 2021, the presenter for his program “Who steals the show from me?” honored. The format co-devised by Winterscheidt won the award in the “Best Entertainment Show” category.
In the “Best Infotainment” category, the presenter was nominated twice alongside his colleague Klaas Heufer-Umlauf (37) – and was also successful here with “Joko & Klaas – Live: Pflege ist # nichtSelbstahn”. The nurse Franziska Böhler and the nurse Alexander Jorde accepted the award.
Drama between beer and coal
In the meantime, “Oktoberfest 1900” was able to assert itself as “Best Multi-Part”. “Best TV film” was named “Forever Summer 90” and “Para – We are King” was named “Best Drama Series”. “The Last Word” is “Best Comedy Series”, “Friday Night Jews” is “Best Comedy / Late Night” and “Best Entertainment Reality” went to “Princess Charming”.
Petra Schmidt-Schaller (41) was honored as “Best Actress” for her role in “Die Toten von Marnow”. Sascha Alexander Geršak (46) was honored as “Best Actor” for the same production and for “Polizeiruf 110: The Condemned”.
In the “Best Information” category, presenter Markus Lanz (52) was successful with his talk show of the same name. The prize in “Best Moderation / Individual Performance Information” went to Anja Reschke (48) for “Panorama” and Andrea Kiewel (56) for “ZDF TV Garden” was awarded for “Best Moderation / Individual Performance in Entertainment”.
Honorary award for Hape Kerkeling
The entertainment legend Hape Kerkeling (56) received the honorary award and a standing ovation. As a “man of many faces” he has been providing “constant new impulses” for decades. He enthused the audience with “his enormous artistic range and his personality to this day”, it said in the explanation.
