BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany’s airline pilots’ union (VC) called a five-hour strike on Saturday at Discover Airlines, a subsidiary of the Lufthansa group, on the eve of Christmas Eve.

All flights in the Airbus 320 and 330 fleet departing from Germany from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (7 a.m. to 12 p.m. GMT) will be affected by the strike, the union said in a statement released Friday.

A Discover spokesperson said 16 flights were planned during the strike period and the airline would minimize the impact on passengers by rescheduling them on other Lufthansa Group flights or on flights outside the period. of strike.

Discover regrets the decision to strike as negotiations with the union moved closer to an agreement, added the spokesperson, who did not specify how many passengers would be affected.
