Germany: HICP inflation estimated at 11.6% year on year in October


BERLIN, Oct 28 (Reuters) – Consumer price inflation in Germany accelerated further in October and beat forecasts, according to a first estimate released on Friday by Destatis, the Federal Institute of Statistics.

The price index calculated according to European standards HICP shows an increase of 1.1% compared to September and 11.6% over one year.

Economists and analysts polled by Reuters on average forecast a rise of 0.5% month-on-month and 10.9% year-on-year.

The consumer price index calculated according to German standards is up 0.9% over one month and 10.4% compared to October 2021. (Report Miranda Murray and Rachel More, French version Marc Angrand, edited by Matthew Protard)
