BERLIN, Oct 7 (Reuters) – German industrial production contracted in August, official data showed on Friday, due to continued bottlenecks linked to the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine .
Industrial production fell 0.8% from July, the Federal Statistical Office said.
Economists polled by Reuters on average expected a decline of 0.5%.
For the month of July, the Office revised its figure upwards to 0.0%, against -0.3% previously. (Reporting by Matthias Williams and Paul Carrel; French version Dina Kartit, editing by Kate Entringer)
