The “DSDS” live shows will take place without Dieter Bohlen. The still-chief juror of the casting show has canceled “due to illness”.

The farewell to Dieter Bohlen (67) apparently comes earlier than expected. Surprisingly, he will not be there at the two upcoming live shows of the current “DSDS” season. The chief juror “unfortunately canceled at short notice due to illness”, reports the broadcaster RTL. As things stand, the jury consists of Maite Kelly (41) and Mike Singer (21). Whether a third juror can step in is to be checked.

“We very much regret Dieter’s cancellation due to illness and wish him all the best and a quick recovery,” RTL entertainment director Kai Sturm is quoted as saying. “The nine finalists now have to sing for victory without Dieter’s company. They are well prepared for that. Maite and Mike have done a very good job so far and will also do the live shows on their own,” he is sure.

Dieter Bohlen has not yet commented

The “DSDS” semi-final will take place on Saturday (March 27th) at 8:15 pm live in the blower hall complex in the Duisburg Landscape Park, the final one week later on Saturday (April 3rd) also live in Duisburg at 8:15 pm.

After 20 years, the “DSDS” jury will be completely new for the first time in the coming season (broadcast in 2022). The broadcaster announced this a few days ago. Accordingly, the pop titan will hand over the jury scepter “to strong successors who will be announced in time for the coming season”. Dieter Bohlen will no longer be part of the jury for the “Supertalent” either. Bohlen himself has not yet commented on his surprising TV-off at RTL.
