Germany: Unexpected rise in industrial production in June

BERLIN, Aug 5 (Reuters) – German industrial production rose unexpectedly in June, official statistics showed on Friday, despite supply chain problems plaguing the manufacturing sector.

Industrial production rose 0.4% from May as economists polled by Reuters on average forecast a decline of 0.3%.

The May figure has also been revised downwards and now shows a decline of 0.1% instead of an increase of 0.2%. (Report Miranda Murray and Rachel More; French version Alizée Degorce)
