The finale of the 18th “Germany’s next top model” season had a lot to offer. In the end, Heidi Klum chose the curvy model Vivien as the winner.

This Thursday evening (June 15) the grand finale of the 18th “Germany’s next top model” season flickered across the ProSieben screens. Best Agerin Nicole, 49, from Offenbach am Main, Olivia, 22, from Hamburg, Selma, 19, from Berlin, Somajia, 21, from Bielefeld and Curvy model Vivien, 23, from Koblenz hoped to win – but only one was ultimately voted “Germany’s next top model 2023”.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s first guest on Heidi’s sofa

First, however, the five finalists opened the live show in Berlin’s Friedrichstadtpalast in glittering costumes by star fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier, 71, who was then the first to sit on Heidi Klum’s, 50, sofa. The model mom surprised her viewers at the beginning with an unusually deep voice. Because Klum recently turned 50 and explained to ProSieben viewers that she would like to sound more age-appropriate in the future. But the top model quickly broke up the joke and then sounded shrill as usual.

Nicole is eliminated after “Reverse Walk”.

For the first walk there was a special challenge. To the music of ESC winner Loreen, 39, who performed her hit “Tattoo”, Selma, Nicole, Olivia, Somajia and Vivien had to run backwards, but pretend it was going the other way. Heidi then watched the catwalk experiment in slow motion – and Best Agerin Nicole, who actually seemed to be one of the best at mastering the difficult walk, was the first to fly out of the final show.

Favorite Selma is surprisingly eliminated as second

Then the big surprise of the evening. After the four remaining models put a choreography by Majnoon on the stage, Heidi, a little surprisingly, sent Selma home second – in the past few days, many viewers and “GNTM” fans had speculated on a victory for the Berliner, who was in Season 18 was able to inspire, among other things, with its makeover.

In between, there is always a switch to Klum’s daughter Leni, 19, or backstage presenter Katherine, who among other things speak to the ex-candidates present. Heidi’s celebrity guests are also impressive. In addition to Loreen, the German Grammy award winner Kim Petras, 30, and the Scorpions also perform on the “GNTM” stage in the Friedrichstadtpalast.

When the next decision is made, Olivia has to leave the show. So only Somajia and Vivien remain in the race for the relay victory.

Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence as a guest on “Germany’s next top model”

Then Heidi conjures up a real Hollywood star on the screens. Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, 32, is a guest. In the morning she had the girls reenact a humorous scene from her upcoming comedy “No Hard Feelings”, which will be released in German cinemas on June 22nd. Supermodel Marcus Schenkenberg, 54, mimed the girls’ play partner, who got into a small argument with him in the reenacted scene and had to fight for tips.

In the recording, Jennifer Lawrence can be seen standing a little uninvolved throughout all of this, commenting on the performances of the up-and-coming models.

Vivien becomes “Germany’s next top model 2023”

Then the heart-stopping finale was just around the corner. After Vivien and Somajia ran to the music of the Scorpions one last time, Heidi curvy model Vivien chose the winner of the 18th season. “Indescribable, I can’t breathe,” she describes her feelings immediately after the win. The prize money of 100,000 euros, the cover of the German “Harper’s Bazaar”, a campaign by the cosmetics manufacturer Mac Cosmetics and possibly also a great modeling career are now waiting for the Koblenz native.
