For one of the four finalists, the dream of winning “Germany’s next top model” has come true. Alex was able to prevail.
For candidate Alex (23), the dream of winning the 16th season of “Germany’s Next Top Model” came true on May 27th. In the live final on Thursday evening, she was able to assert herself against her three fellow candidates Romina (21), Soulin (20) and Dascha (21) in front of model mom Heidi Klum (47) and an empty location.
Actually, most should expect a mega event full of glamor and glamor from the grand finale of a “GNTM” season. However, due to the corona pandemic, such an event was only possible to a limited extent in 2021. The finalists had to present themselves in front of large video walls instead of crowded auditoriums. At least around 600 family members, friends, fans and former candidates were connected via video call – cheering crowds from the tape should create a good atmosphere.
Around an hour after the show started, the first young model had to give up his dream of victory, a new car, prize money of 100,000 euros, a model contract and the cover of the German “Harper’s Bazaar”. According to Klum, Alex, who always radiates a “certain inner calm”, the bellicose Dasha and Soulin in futuristic outfits were able to convince in the “Superhero Walk”. Even if the model mom and presenter see how Romina burns for a victory, her fiery appearance with wings in the flame look was not enough to get ahead.
Get on the treadmill
Then the other candidates should face a special challenge. In a “parcours walk” they had to show how to walk the catwalk under difficult conditions. Artificial rain and wind, a treadmill and a rotating tunnel were no major challenge for the girls. Alex in particular was able to inspire, while “Posen-Queen” Soulin had to admit defeat.
A “Flower Walk” followed, in which the models adorned with wonderful flower arrangements ran while Zoe Wees (19) performed live. Another musical interlude, coupled with a task, followed directly. In the finale, Dascha and Alex shot a live music video for the song “Behind Blue Eyes” with Tokio Hotel and VIZE.
In a walk that followed, Dasha and Alex floated one last time over the catwalk. She had left more than 17,000 applicants behind to make it this far. Ultimately, Klum, who had no guest jurors in the final, decided on Alex. She is “Germany’s next top model 2021”!
