For the third time, a candidate throws down before the final
There were only four left: These are this year’s “GNTM” finalists.

Ashley will not take part in the “Germany’s next top model” final. She is the third consecutive finalist to make this decision.
And one of them did it again: Ashley Amegan (22) throws down as the third candidate in a row before the grand finale of “Germany’s next top model”. The Munich resident made it into the finals on Thursday evening alongside Alex (23), Dascha (20), Soulin (20) and Romina (21). Shortly afterwards, however, she announced on her Instagram account, that she will not take part in the final and her trip to “GNTM” is hereby ended. “I put my own self-satisfaction and my inner gut feeling first,” said the 22-year-old, explaining her motives. In the show itself, a brief note about her exit “for personal reasons” was shown.
Lijana Kaggwa went live in the final
Last year, a candidate only threw in the towel in the middle of the final. Lijana Kaggwa (24) cited the constant bullying of TV viewers as the reason for her surprising exit, from which the 24-year-old still suffers according to her own statements. “I was then in the final and found that I can no longer identify with it, it is no longer the right thing for me,” the young model recently recalled on VOX. Kaggwa accepted as a candidate participated in the popular show “Shopping Queen”.
Was Vanessa really leaving for “personal reasons”?
In 2019, candidate Vanessa Tamkan (24) made the decision not to take part in the “GNTM” final despite her entry. At that time it was said that the 24-year-old had left the show for “personal reasons”. However, several months later, Tamkan declared in an Instagram video: “For weeks I basically had to watch my character being shown in a way that he just isn’t.”
In her opinion, interviews were incorrectly cut together and questions taken out of their context. At some point she finally realized: “You can no longer represent it morally.” Tamkan has now started her own family. In October 2019 she married her boyfriend Roman Cem Tamkan. She has been the mother of a young son since February 2021. Your offspring is called Carlo.
