Germany's next top model: Heidi Klum's first celebrity guest in season 16 is a designer

Heidi Klum is getting support again for the 16th season of "GNTM". She thanks her first celebrity guest via Instagram.

From spring 2021 Heidi Klum (47) is looking for "Germany's next top model" again on ProSieben. Filming for the 16th season began in 2020 due to the corona pandemic in Berlin. In the new episodes, Heidi Klum once again invites star photographers, designers and international top models by her side, who support her in the decision. On Instagram, she shows a photo with her celebrity guest at the beginning: It is fashion designer Manfred Thierry Mugler (71).

Special production under corona conditions

"You are one of the reasons why I fell in love with fashion," enthuses Heidi Klum about the designer. You have awe of his "incredible talent". The French are "by far one of my favorite artists in the world".

According to ProSieben, there is a "glamorous fashion show" to see at the start of the season. Manfred Thierry Mugler says about his guest appearance: "For me as an artist and director, the most important thing is that my creations are filled with emotion and life. Measurements, skin color or gender are irrelevant."

Due to the corona pandemic, there is "a very close-knit and extensive hygiene concept" for the production of the 16th season of the casting show, as the broadcaster reports. Among other things, there are no spectators at catwalks and fashion shows and everyone must wear a mask on set. Heidi Klum and her team "are regularly tested during the entire shooting time", and all celebrity guests are also tested before shooting. The young models "were in quarantine before the start of shooting. The top model candidates are regularly tested from the first day of quarantine until the end of the shooting."
