(CercleFinance.com) – Getlink announces that Europorte, its rail freight subsidiary, will modernize its fleet of Euro4000 locomotives by investing in innovative ETCS (European Train Control System) rail signaling technology.
It will thus equip 10 locomotives with this technology, an investment which represents an amount of 8.5 million euros, co-financed at 60% by its partner Beacon Rail and which is the subject of subsidies from the European Commission.
By equipping its locomotives with ETCS, which will promote modal shift at European level over long distances, Europorte explains ‘ensuring a place of choice for international and cross-border traffic, particularly towards Belgium and Germany’.
