Getlink: rebound in Shuttle traffic in January – 02/08/2022 at 10:12

(AOF) – Getlink reported on Tuesday its Shuttle traffic for the month of January 2022. The Channel Tunnel concessionaire indicates that the Shuttle Freight transported 113,917 trucks, an increase of 38% compared to January 2021, driven by the success of the Eurotunnel Border Pass application and a favorable base effect linked to the disruptions resulting from the entry into force of the administrative formalities provided for by the trade and cooperation agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom .

At the same time, the Shuttle transported 66,875 passenger vehicles, up 44%. “Even if the activity was able to benefit from the reduction of certain travel restrictions compared to 2021, it is still impacted by the pandemic”, explains Getlink.
