Getsafe no longer accepts new customers in France

The German online insurer Getsafe, which arrived in France in January 2023 with home contracts, has put its activities in France on hold, no longer accepting new customers.

“We have suspended the subscription of new home insurance products in France. We apologize for this inconvenience,” indicates on its website the company which presents itself as “No. 1 insurance application in Europe”.

“We are in the process of evolving our product portfolio. This also means that we cannot renew the contracts of certain customers,” a spokesperson commented quite enigmatically on Wednesday, refusing to answer any further questions.

“France continues to play a central role for Getsafe,” he stressed. The company does not specify how many customers it has acquired in France in one year.

550,000 customers in Germany, Austria and France

Active since 2017 in Germany, the Heidelberg-based neoinsurer established itself in Great Britain in 2020 and in Austria in 2022, before attacking the French market. Getsafe claims more than 550,000 customers, according to its website.
