Realme passes the second and will market its first laptop in Europe… as well as in France. This is not the most adopted strategy, it requires producing laptops with an AZERTY keyboard which is expensive in the production lines. The first laptop, Book Prime, reminds us of a MacBook with Huawei’s strategy when they released the MateBook X Pro.
Realme launches its first laptop in France, the Chinese brand was largely inspired by Honor’s strategy in the field with the MagicBooks: a compact laptop, an ultrabook, under Windows 11 whose features will certainly remind you of the MacBook. On paper, you will see that this Realme Book is also very close to the Huawei MateBook X Pro range.
A solid technical sheet for an ultrabook
Specs-wise, the Realme Book Prime comes with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11320H (Willow Cove) processor with 8 or 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD.
As you can see, these are classic industry specs: a late 2021 low-power CPU with 4 cores and 8 threads, as well as the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 (80EU) iGPU. This makes it possible to obtain good performance and a correct autonomy, at least on paper.
A 2K screen in 3:2 format
The screen is undoubtedly the most interesting component: in 2K definition, it is 14 inches diagonally with small borders, an aspect ratio of 3:2 and a maximum brightness of 400 nits. We had the opportunity to meet him for a few minutes, the screen is really his main asset. It’s not as bright as Apple’s screens, but it’s a comfortable and pleasing screen, especially for the price of the machine.
As for the design, it reminds me of a MacBook AIr. But today, most Chinese laptops, from Honor, Huawei, Xiaomi… use this type of unibody design with a hinge that offers a wide screen opening angle.
The chiclet type keyboard with short strokes, it seems efficient at first sight and (once again) very similar to that of a MacBook, the touchpad is wide and multipoint.
In terms of connectors, it’s sober, there is no HDMI 2.0 output, but 1 full-size USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type A port, a headphone jack, as well as two USB Type-C USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports which also offer Thunderbolt 4 support.

It is these ports that allow the charging of the device with a supplied 65 Watt charger. The battery, meanwhile, has a capacity of 54 Wh.
In short, as you can see, the advantage of this device is a beautiful technical sheet with a case with finishes that seem, at first sight, to be there. We do not have a release date, however we know that the Realme Book Prime will be available in France from 1099.99 euros. A price that is not as low as Honor’s pricing strategy, nevertheless it remains competitive against industry champions, including Asus, HP, Lenovo and Dell.
It is natively equipped with Windows 11, it will be available in three colors including dark gray, dark green and light gray.
