Asus announces the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition. Integrating the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, it is accompanied by a battery of accessories inspired by the Blizzard license. The smartphone will be available on November 18, 2022, exclusively on the Asus merchant site. It will be sold at 1329 euros, which is 100 euros more than the ROG Phone 6 Batman Edition. And we had the opportunity to take it in hand.
In 2022, Asus introduced a lot of ROG Phone. By counting all the variations and configurations, we have counted some no less than 7 so far. Two ROG Phone 6 (12/256 and 16/512). A ROG Phone 6 Pro (18/512 GB). Two ROG Phone 6D (12/256 GB and 16/256 GB). A ROG Phone 6D Ultimate (16/512 GB). With seven models, we thought we’d now have to wait until next year to hear about Asus’ gaming smartphones again. It was bad to know the Taiwanese firm. Indeed, today it unveils another version: the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal Edition. This is a customized version of the intermediate ROG Phone 6. You therefore find a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform accompanied by 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage (without possible extension, as always).
The ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal is inspired by the great objects of the saga
We had the opportunity to take control of this new version. You can find our video above. But here is some additional information that we were unable to include. Starting with the box: it is really very impressive. And it is very high quality. She is inspired by Horadric Cube, an artifact that is used in the games of the license to create and customize in-game objects. You can notice the Lord of Terror in all its splendor, as well as an embossing on the letters of the name of the smartphone. This box is not interactive, unlike those of other ROG Phones.
Inside the box, you find several objects. First a storage box for the smartphone. It takes the design of the Stone-World who, in Diablo’s story, is the cause of the war between Heaven and the Burning Underworld. What better way to store a gaming smartphone than such an important item? In the packaging of the smartphone, you will also find a protective shell with two visuals: on the outside an image inspired by the Shield of Serenity and inside a portrait of the Lord of Terroras on the big box.
A Sanctuary card accompanies the ROG Phone 6 Diablo
Back to the big box. You will find several additional objects there. First of all, a large parchment where is printed Sanctuary map, the world where you evolve in Diablo Immortal. Unrolling this card reveals two pockets where the nylon USB Type-C cable and the AC adapter are located to charge the product.
It is a very qualitative and “interactive” accessory. Indeed, under the map of Sanctuary, you have a flashlight that really works. She is inspired by the Light of Fahir, an item the player uses when they reach the Shassar Sea region. This flashlight emits a purple light that reveals certain inscriptions hidden in the map. Last accessory: the tool to open the SIM card drawer. It is customized and uses the logo of the game.
The ROG Phone 6 Diablo is mainly aimed at fans of the series
Now let’s look at the smartphone. As you can see, this is a “standard” ROG Phone 6: no D, no Pro, no d(Ultimate. So there’s no ROG Vision or AeroActive Portal on the back , but just a RGB lighting. Usually, this lighting represents the ROG logo. Here it is the logo of the game. You also have a silkscreened design on the back, very nice. Finally, the color of the phone is called ” Hellfire Red “. And it is obviously exclusive to this version. Let’s not forget the software side: Asus has customized the ROG UI interface with themed wallpapers and modified icons. It’s very nice.
Technically, the ROG Phone 6 Diablo Immortal is a Standard ROG Phone 6. There is no improvement (or degradation) of the technical sheet and performance. We recommend that you read our test to find out more. Finally, let’s finish with the painful: the price. This smartphone, with all its accessories, is sold 1329 euros. Or 100 euros more than the ROG Phone 6 Batman. It’s a bit pricey for someone just looking for a gaming smartphone. For Diablo fans (and without getting into the controversy over the game’s business model), it’s a nice collector’s item. And when you are passionate, exclusivity does not necessarily have a price.
