Ghosted on Apple TV+: How this spy comedy brought four Marvel superheroes together on screen

Available since yesterday on the Apple TV+ platform (and MyCanal if you are a subscriber), the spy comedy Ghosted has some nice surprises in store for us in terms of cameos.

Don’t expect a revolutionary film with Ghosted, which Apple TV+ has been offering to its subscribers since yesterday. Chris Evans and Ana de Armas reunite in a spy comedy that takes us on a journey around the world. Here is the synopsis: When Cole falls madly in love with the mysterious Sadie, he is far from suspecting that she is actually a secret agent. When Cole is determined to see Sadie again, they are suddenly drawn into an adventure to save the world.

But where Ghosted is strong is when it manages to surprise us with the appearance of several unexpected actors for a particularly funny sequence. We’ll keep the names silent to avoid spoilers, but they all have one thing in common: they’re related to Marvel. An aspect that is not surprising since Chris Evans camped for several years the superhero Captain America on the screen and that he made friends with his playing partners.

In an interview given to Good Morning Americathe actor also revealed that he himself asked his three actors to appear alongside him in the film: “These guys…they accepted the challenge and they were there for me. It was awesome“. Note that another Avenger should also have played in Ghosted since Scarlett Johansson was originally to give him the reply. Before abandoning the project, following a conflict of schedule.

Warning, spoilers.

If you’ve seen the movie before or want to be spoiled, we’ll reveal the names of these actors in the next paragraph.

Marvel fans easily recognized Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan – Falcon and the Winter Soldier, respectively – as mercenaries. The two actors gave the reply to Chris Evans in several Avengers and in Captain America. They also have their own Disney+ series and will be back in Captain America 4.

As for Ryan Reynolds aka Deadpool, who seems to be always ready to make jokes, he is a longtime friend with Chris Evans. The latter has also made a cameo in Free Guy in 2021 where he plays his own role. We let you (re)do the scene above:

Ghosted is available on Apple TV+ and via MyCanal if you are a subscriber.
